Meridian Cafe in New South Wales

"On my way to Canberra I had the pleasure of being served a beautiful cup of tea by Aiden just the way I like it! He gave me almond milk on the side and it was served in a beautiful individual teapot with a teacup that sits underneath the teapot. Honestly, it’s the best place to stop over between Sydney and Canberra! Thank you, Aiden! EDIT on the return journey I enjoyed a beautifully made cafe latte on almond and picked up a dozen free range eggs. :)"

"1st time visiting Marulen, called into this cafe for breakfast, very generous sized bacon and egg roll with a hash brown absolutely delish!!! Friendly staff very clean cafe, would definitely recommend."

"Found this little unexpected gem when I got turned around due to roadworks on the highway. It was a late Sunday afternoon and I had a hungry and tired toddler with me. The lovely lady made us gourmet sandwiches and we enjoyed looking at all the displays and nice Xmas decorations while we waited. Very grateful to have found this cafe and highly recommend to anyone travelling on the main highway to stop and check it out. A nice playground near by too!"

"Travelling back to Sydney, thought we would have a look at somewhere better to stop for coffee other than the service centres you see along the way .We found this quaint little town .Food was well priced and delicious. "Had a cappuccino - was decent, strong and lots of chockie! Also had a Meridian Roll WITH a scallop on it as standard; BBQ sauce. Bun was soft and sweet, egg was semisolid yolk and flat so no mess. Bacon was cooked but not overdone so plenty of flavour. Scallop was soft like a cloud inside, and crunchy on the outside. Honestly this was perfection - I made the perfect choice. The lovely lady serving was friendly, communicative and moved with German efficiency. Cafe is clean and has amazing carpet. I had no shoes on and it felt like a velvet doona. There is also a little gift wall, cakes, sandwiches, drinks; they even do SPIDERS! Lots of variety for one little place, and prices are absolutely excellent! Someone really loves this cute little cafe and I’m giving 5/5 without fear of contradiction."

"This is the first time we’ve stopped in Marulan since the bypass went in decades ago. We came here especially to see if there’s was a better option for a coffee stop than the motorway service stations and there is! Decent coffee, real tea in a pot, a nice selection of cakes, and even some gluten free treats. Lovely staff, fast service, and a nice quiet stop, still very close to the freeway. We’ll be back."

"Dropped in on the way back from Canberra for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. A great alternative to a service centre. Generous sized tasty burgers, a range of cakes and other food options with friendly old fashioned service and clean facilities. Recommended."
